This picture represents The Great Depression. In The Great Depression people were extremely poor and were out of work. People were homeless, starving and lost everything. This picture represents a family of seven, poor, hungry and deprived. This is the family of a migrant agricultural family that lost everything and are going hungry. The mother was 32 and the father was a native Californian. Many people committed suicide during this tragic era in American History. This is one of the many families who had to make sacrifices and lost a lot of what they had worked hard for. In this picture everyone is very sad because they are living in a tent during cold weather. Their home is now a tent and they probably don't have much clothes or shelter. Many families suffered during the depression and this family is a good example of what The Depression must have been like. This picture was taken in 1936 in February or March.
